Napoléon at the Plessis-Bourré


On the 17th and 18th july 2018 the parc of the castle will be the setting of an exceptional show !

For the 6th year passionates will reproduce a battle between French Empire and the Alliance.

Impressive fights :

All your senses are solicited : the sight of those soldiers wearing proudly shimmering uniforms, the smell of horses and black powder and especially the sound of rifles and canons, nothing will be missing to the feast to immerse you in this fascinating period.


Beyond the spectacular, what the actors propose to you is a discussion on the way of life of the period : the way to dress up, to speak, to eat and to celebrate will be presented between two fight demonstrations.


A sizable camp :

The Bivouac will be more dense than last year, some forty tents will be seted in the parc of the castle. You will be invited to meander among the army rabble and the officiers, who will be glad to share with you their knowledge on this fascinating historical period.


This year a true canon will be manoeuvred by gunners, be ready !



This event is a wink to the proper history of the owners.

Indeed, at the beginnig of XXth century, François Reille-Soult of Dalmatie, grand-father of the current owners, inherited of the castle of the Plessis-Bourré. Well, this French politician descended from the Marshalls Soult, Reille and Massena.

The castle stays open to free tour for 10h to 18h the two days.

There will be no guided tour the 17th and 18th july, free tour only will be possible to discover the castle.
